About Bill Nesbit & WN&A
Bill Nesbit is an accomplished senior manager with broad corporate, agency, and retail business management experience, to include long-term consulting work with multiple engineering companies, R&D organizations, Fortune 500 companies, main-street businesses, and government entities. He has secured and managed contracts totaling millions of dollars and maintained contract relationships with multiple clients for terms of up to 20 years.
He has written hundreds of publications describing complex technical, economic, and policy information for technical, informed, and lay audiences, and designed and managed dozens of marketing communications programs. He has extensive experience working with senior level engineers, and has trained hundreds of technical professionals in ways to improve the clarity, efficiency, and effectiveness of their writing.
Bill established Wm. Nesbit & Associates (WN&A) in Northern California in 1979 as a full service marketing communications agency, and through the years grew it into a 15-person, multi-million dollar company. The company has worked under contract with multiple departments of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), and served as the primary communications contractor for Pacific Gas & Electric Company’s San Ramon Research Center, and for the California Public Utilities Commission’s Board for Energy Efficiency and its Technical Advisory Committee. In 1999 Bill closed the California office and began independent practice in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Prior to establishing WN&A, he worked as a newspaper reporter in North Carolina and Arizona and as a public relations/public affairs manager for Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation in California, where he managed communications programs for the Energy Management, Environmental Control, and Research & Development departments. He is a decorated U.S. Army Signal Corp officer having served in the U.S. and Vietnam.
